Hello Ben,
In the central Alps this year’s bouldering season wasn't the best in terms of the weather, snow and conditions in general as everyone might know. Nevertheless they weren't so bad in my home spot Algund in northern Italy, where we had the weather on our side pretty much the whole winter. I made good use of that by putting up a lot of new cool lines there... many thanks to my never resting wire brush and motor saw to clear off the mass of trees lying in various landings of new and old problems due to heavy storms in last years spring.
The hard work and vision paid off though, amazing sick problems like "Egyptian Arete" and "High Hopes" (both font 8A), "Small valley Syndrom" 7C and another 20 or more problems in the lower grades saw their first ascents by me. And with all the hard work put in over the last years it was nice to see that the Area gets more and more popular and is getting more attention from people out of other countries that are well satisfied climbing on those problems!
Anyways, everything has its changing circle and the winter and good conditions moved out of Algund and won't return till next fall... So its time for me to move on to Switzerland, Zillertal and other spots higher up in the mountains to satisfy my blocs-addiction!
Enjoy the spring everyone,
Juri.
